How We Operate
Bidfood Czech Republic is a group of specialized companies that together provide comprehensive services in the production and distribution of food for retail and gastronomy in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary.
Distribution
Bidfood ranks among the largest food distributors not only in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary, but across Europe. In these three countries alone, our distribution network ships over a thousand tonnes of goods every day—served from more than ten depots and cross-docks. All Bidfood companies comply with the strictest hygiene regulations and renew their international certifications every year.
Production
Every year our factories produce tens of thousands of tonnes of food—roughly a quarter of everything we distribute. We’re proud of our ice-cream plant in Opava, the largest in the Czech and Slovak Republics, and of our game-processing facility in Kralupy, one of the biggest in Central and Eastern Europe. We cut fish fillets from block-frozen Canadian hake and are the world’s largest buyer of this raw material.
Crafted with Heart and Skill
We develop all our products in-house. Our people created the original Mrož ice cream, a product without equal at the time. We began by preparing chef-ready cuts of meat to save time in the kitchen, and we were the first in the Czech Republic to launch sous-vide meat production—an initiative that proved highly successful. We invest continuously in our plants to keep them at the technological cutting edge and sustainably competitive. Every year we increase the volume of products flowing from our factories to a broad base of customers across Europe and around the world.
